Located at 37th & Broadway in Kansas City, Missouri, The Chatham Apartments is a 6 story historic building which underwent a complete renovation to meet historic standards. This project was built with the assistance of MHDC housing tax credits and includes all new HVAC, Electrical and plumbing systems, historic windows and plaster details. In addition, the roof contains a solar panel array sufficient to power all common areas of the building – a first in the Kansas City area for a senior housing project of this type.
Rau Construction Company is proud to announce that 2 of our recent construction projects, the Chatham Senior Apartments project and the Poehler Lofts, have both been selected as winners of the National Housing & Rehabilitation Association’s 2012 J. Timothy Anderson Awards for Excellence in Historic Rehabilitation. Rau Construction served as the General Contractor and Construction Manager for these exciting projects. Congratulations to both Landmark Investment Group and Rosemann & Associates for this great achievement!
Rau Construction recently completed a green renovation of 106 apartments homes at the Oakland Heights redevelopment. Each of the 106 apartment homes featured green improvements including Energy Star certified HVAC systems & appliances, water efficient fixtures, energy efficient lighting, spray-foam insulated walls and low VOC finishes. All 106 homes achieved Energy Star New Homes certification from a 3rd party energy auditor and together qualified for $80,000 worth of energy rebates from KCPL. On average, the apartment homes are 52.5% more energy efficient than comparable dwellings. View more apartment project photos and entire Oakland Heights before and after gallery here.
