Completed in July 2012, the renovation of the Poehler Mercantile Building in Lawrence, Kansas includes the complete renovation including new mechanical, electrical, fire protection and life safety systems. All work meets or exceeds the local and federal requirements for historic renovation. A special feature of this building is the 57KW photovoltaic solar array planned for the roof to provide clean energy for the common areas and tenant amenities.
Rau Construction recently completed a green renovation of 106 apartments homes at the Oakland Heights redevelopment. Each of the 106 apartment homes featured green improvements including Energy Star certified HVAC systems & appliances, water efficient fixtures, energy efficient lighting, spray-foam insulated walls and low VOC finishes. All 106 homes achieved Energy Star New Homes certification from a 3rd party energy auditor and together qualified for $80,000 worth of energy rebates from KCPL.
